What's in a name?
Motor Current Signature Analysis or Electrical Signature Analysis, what’s the difference? In short, MCSA is performed with only one current probe and a data collector such as your vibration tool. With proper training, you can catch a lot of failure modes!
In ESA, the three phased voltages and currents are synchronously measured and a more detailed analysis can be performed. We really turn your drivetrain inside out and even obtain lateral and torsional vibrations. This can be linked to evolving failures or the root cause of the problem.
